I was there at the dawn of Babylon 5 fandom and the world wide web as we know it today. Fandom, online communities, digital media and more. From early hand-coded websites to modern asset databases, I helped create some of the internet’s earliest entertainment destinations.
Today, I speak about the history of online fandom, Babylon 5, the early web, and how communities formed online long before social media.

Most panels and discussions about early internet fandom come from historians looking back.
I was there.
As a fan, member of the fandom community, convention attendee, chat community leader, and eventurally part of Warner Bros. Online, I experienced firsthand the transition from dial-up fandom communities to the modern internet. Going from a fan to working on your favorite show is every fan’s dream, and it actually happened.
My presentations combine personal stories, archival materials, screenshots, photographs, and lessons and memories from one of television’s earliest online fandoms.
