QuickTime VR Reborn

During the early days of the web, one of the most exciting technologies was QuickTime VR, which allowed visitors to explore interactive 360-degree panoramic scenes long before Google Street View or virtual tours became commonplace. In the late 1990s, we enlisted Janie Fitzgerald of Axis Images to create several of these panoramas for the official Babylon 5 website, giving fans a chance to look around sets and locations from the series in a completely new way.

Unfortunately, the original panoramas stopped working after QuickTime 7 was discontinued, but thanks to modern technology, these historic panoramas are once again viewable in your browser. Select one of the panoramas below to begin exploring, and check back often as I continue restoring and adding more from the archives.

Huge thanks to the Pano2VR team for gifting a license key to remove the watermark for a limited period of time. We will be detailing the process how we rescued these panoramas here soon!

Choose a panorama to view. Future panoramas will be released as the book gets closer. Join the email list below to receive notifications about the book and when new items are added here to the website. I hope you enjoy!
